DAY 1 OF 4

Piscacucho (Km 82) to Wayllabamba

Begin at Km 82 and follow the Cusichaka valley past Inca terraces and Patallacta toward the first camp near Wayllabamba.

After the transfer from Cusco, begin walking at Piscacucho (Km 82). The route follows the Cusichaka valley and passes views of Patallacta and Willkarakay before continuing toward Wayllabamba.

The current tour itinerary describes approximately 12 km of walking on this first stage. Camp arrangements and the day’s briefing are confirmed by your guide.

DAY 2 OF 4

Wayllabamba to Pacaymayu

Climb through changing Andean vegetation to Dead Woman's Pass at about 4,215 m, then descend toward Pacaymayu.

This is the most demanding ascent of the four-day Classic Inca Trail. From Wayllabamba, the route climbs through forest and open mountain terrain, passing the Llulluchapampa area before reaching Warmiwañusca (Dead Woman’s Pass), about 4,215 m above sea level.

The route then descends toward the Pacaymayu area for the second night. The old tour content gives conflicting distances for this stage; confirm the current walking estimate with Inkayni before departure.

DAY 3 OF 4

Pacaymayu through Inca sites toward the final camp

Walk through Runkurakay, Sayacmarca and the cloud-forest section near Phuyupatamarca before descending toward the final camp area.

The third day combines repeated climbs and descents with archaeological sites and cloud-forest scenery. The existing itinerary names Runkurakay, Sayacmarca and Phuyupatamarca along this section, followed by a descent toward the final camp.

The source gives roughly 3,950–4,000 m for the day’s high section and conflicting total distances. Your confirmed itinerary should state the current distance and camp allocation; Wiñay Wayna is not guaranteed.

Sun Gate, Machu Picchu and return to Cusco

Complete the trail via Inti Punku (Sun Gate), visit Machu Picchu on the circuit assigned to your departure and return by the included transport.

Start early for the final approach to Inti Punku (Sun Gate) and continue toward Machu Picchu. The visit follows the entry and circuit confirmed for your booking; an additional circuit or mountain ticket should not be assumed.

After the guided visit, descend to Aguas Calientes and return by the train and onward transport specified in the current inclusion list. The existing itinerary lists approximately 5 km of walking; its former miles conversion was erroneous and is not repeated here.
