Itinerary

Pachacamac Tour

We’ll begin our journey heading south from central Lima in a private tourist vehicle. During the drive, your guide will share fascinating insights about the pre-Hispanic cultures that once flourished here and the importance of the **Pachacamac Sanctuary** as a major ceremonial center for the Lima, Wari, Ichma, and Inca civilizations.

Our first stop will be the Pachacamac Site Museum, home to more than 290 original artifacts, including polychrome ceramics, fine textiles, and the famous wooden idol representing the deity Pachacamac — a powerful symbol of Andean spirituality and oracular power.

Next, we’ll explore the most important sectors of the archaeological complex:

  • Acllawasi: The House of the Chosen Women or Virgins of the Sun, where women devoted themselves to sacred rituals and ceremonial weaving.
  • Pilgrims’ Plaza: A vast esplanade used for public ceremonies and offerings.
  • Ceremonial Routes: Ancient processional pathways connecting the main temples.
  • Temple of the Sun: Built atop a hill, this adobe structure dominates the landscape, offering privileged views of the Pacific Ocean and the fertile Lurín Valley.

The ascent to the temple is gradual and accessible — ideal for observing the surroundings and appreciating the site’s scale and setting.

At the end of the visit, we’ll return to Lima in our private vehicle.

Note: Pickup and drop-off are included for hotels or Airbnbs located in **Miraflores, Barranco, or San Isidro**. For other areas, a meeting point or additional transfer can be arranged with an extra fee.
