There are 2 ways to get to Machu Picchu from Aguas Calientes or Machu Picchu Town:

CONSETTUR BUS SERVICE

The “Consettur” transportation service that takes you to Machu Picchu is a convenient and efficient option to access the iconic Inca citadel. These buses are modern and air-conditioned, providing a pleasant and comfortable trip.

  • Hours of operation: They go up from 05:30 am to 3:30 pm and go down between 06:00 am and 5:30 pm from Machu Picchu.
  • Frequency: Departures every 10 minutes to ensure availability.
  • Bus fare: $24 round trip.
  • Ticket purchase: At the CONSETTUR bus station on Avenida Hermanos Ayar in Aguas Calientes.
  • One-way tickets cost $12 per person.
  • No specific timetable on the ticket: Take the bus according to the Machu Picchu timetable.
  • Example: If you can enter from 11 am, take the bus at least 1 hour before. You need to do a line at the entrance of Machu Picchu and before take the bus.
  • Tourists waiting in line before boarding the CONSETTUR buses.

Walking from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu is possible. This hike lasts approximately 2 hours.

The hike follows a steep trail through the mountains, involving considerable physical exertion. Initially, you walk along one side of the road, then ascend a series of stairs through the mountainside. The final stretch runs along the road until you reach the entrance gate to Machu Picchu.

  • Bus to Machu Picchu:
