What to do or how to prevent altitude sickness on the 5-day Salkantay Trek excursion?

Taking into account altitude sickness is crucial when arriving in Cusco. We are sure that you will be able to acclimatize efficiently in your first days.

For those travelers looking to maximize their time, we recommend taking small tours near the city before embarking on the Salkantay Trek. Find more information in our blog on “HOW TO TACKLE ALTITUDE SICKNESS IN CUSCO?“.

If I have a physical limitation, can I do the 5-day Salkantay Trek?

At Inkayni Peru Tours, we strive to ensure that our tours are accessible to everyone, including those with disabilities.

Although many of our tours require some mobility and physical endurance, some, especially those exploring archaeological sites, may have challenging sections that could pose risks to disabled passengers.

If you have a disability, we recommend that you contact our agents before booking your tour. They will help you find activities that best suit your needs.

Can I take my camera or phone during the Salkantay Trek to take pictures?

Of course! We all know that the images capture the most special moments of our travels. Therefore, we recommend you bring a camera or an action camera, such as the GoPro.

If you plan to use a drone, don’t worry. You can do so until the third day of the route. However, from the fourth day onwards, this won’t be possible. Using drones is prohibited by the regulations of the Peruvian state while you are in protected areas.

I want to have a different train option than Inkayni Peru Tours offers, is this possible?

Flexibility is key with Inkayni Peru Tours, as you can change your choice of train, route, or even the railway company. Please note that changes are subject to additional charges and are non-refundable.

Please, contact us in advance of your travel date in case you decide to make any changes. They will be available to help you and provide detailed information about the available options.

Will I be able to charge my devices during the 5-day Salkantay Trek?

Remember: although you can do this at some camps, it’s crucial to consider the potential saturation on arrival.

We recommend you bring your power bank to avoid inconvenience and ensure your devices are always charged. Also, carrying extra batteries can be beneficial to being fully prepared.
