Location:
It is located at an altitude of 4,200 meters above sea level, in the district of Mollepata (Anta) in the Vilcabamba mountain range in southern Peru. It is 25 km from the Mollepata main square. Then you have to go hiking 3km to access Humantay Lagoon.
Once there, you will see the turquoise water that is mystifying. The Humantay lagoon is considered as a sacred lagoon in the region.

Description of the Full Day Humantay Lagoon tour–Private Service
Our full day Humantay is designed to anyone who wishes to enjoy nature at the foot of a snow-covered mountain above 4,200 m.a.s.l. where there is so much to see and know, ignored by most visitors.
The hike to the lagoon is a moderate difficulty but well worth the effort. You will find spectacular landscapes, with exotic flora and fauna along this adventure hike through beautiful valleys and snow-capped mountains like Salkantay and Humantay.
It takes about 1 hour and a half to finally set your gaze on the beauty of Humantay Lake.

Itinerary:
- We will pick you up from your hotel at 05:00 am and take you on the trip.
- After 3 hours, we will arrive in the village of Mollepata (2,900 masl / 9,515 ft) where we will have a delicious breakfast and recover energy.
- Then we will go to Soraypampa (3,850 masl / 12,631 ft). From this point, we will start hiking. Our guide will show you the path you have to follow. If you wish, you can rent horses offered by the inhabitants of the area.
- During the ascent, we will have the opportunity to observe the diverse flora and fauna that inhabit the area. We can find some native birds of the area, as well as to get great views of the Andean landscape.
- Once we reach our goal, we will be delighted with the spectacular views of the Humantay Lagoon (4,200 masl / 13 779 feet) and its turquoise waters where you can take panoramic photographs. We will also thank the Pachamama and the Apus in a small ritual with coca.
- After having relaxed, we will descend to Soraypampa where our transport will be waiting for us to take us to Mollepata.
- In Mollepata, we will enjoy our lunch. Finally, we will return to the city of Cusco and drop you off in the hotel.
