Itinerary

Andean Pachamanca in Chinchero

PACHAMANCA (1) 10d-andes-destacados-machu-picchu-puno-inkayni-peru-tours-mov

After pickup from your hotel in Cusco in the morning, we’ll drive to the village of Chinchero (3,762 m / 12,343 ft), where you’ll be warmly welcomed by local families dressed in traditional attire and accompanied by Andean music.

We’ll begin with an ancestral textile demonstration, where local women weavers will share the traditional process of spinning, dyeing with native plants, and hand-weaving — techniques passed down through generations.

Next, you’ll take part in a short ceremony of gratitude to Pachamama, guided by a local villager.

Then, together with your hosts, you’ll start preparing the Pachamanca, an ancient Andean cooking technique in which marinated meats, native potatoes, fava beans, humitas, and aromatic herbs are cooked underground using hot stones.

Once ready, we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch in a natural and welcoming setting.

After lunch, you’ll have free time to rest, take photos, or chat with the families before returning to Cusco.
