Since October 1st 2020, Peru will open its borders for international flights
Traveling opens your mind and connects you with the essence of your soul. Unfortunately, due to COVID19 most of us had to stop planning trips. We treasure those days in which we were free and had the opportunity to visit many places and learn from different countries, and wait eagerly to start planning again the dream vacation.
Peruvian Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC) announced that international flights will be set to open October 1st, 2020. Of course, this means that each traveler has to follow the hygiene and security protocols.
Health screenings are in place at Jorge Chavez International Airport.
Those traveling to Peru must possess a negative COVID-19 molecular test. The test must be taken from 2 to 7 days before traveling, said the Peruvian minister of Transportation and Communications.
Besides setting a date for internationals flights, it has been established the countries that will be part of the destinations. Among the places you can fly from or to Peru are The United States, Spain, Mexico, Brazil, and Chile.
Hygiene protocols for internationals flights:
Regarding the hygiene protocols, Peruvian minister of Transportation and Communications mentioned that airlines will be informed in advance of the measures that will be applied on the flights so they can provide a high quality service.
On the other hand, Peruvian government has approved domestic flights since July 15, following a suspension due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. International flights remain suspended, and Peru’s borders are closed for all but essential traffic.
Although the future remains uncertain, we sincerely hope that soon we will be able to visit different places of the world. Now, we can start packing following the protocols and once borders are open get ready for the adventure we have waited for so long.
