Itinerary

Birdwatching in Huacarpay

Early departure from your hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley (around 5:00 a.m.). Our first stop will be in high Andean scrublands to observe species like the Rusty-fronted Canastero, White-tufted Sunbeam, and several hummingbirds.

As we ascend to the Málaga Pass (4,316 m), we’ll explore páramo ecosystems and may spot Sierra finches, Ground tyrants, and, if lucky, the Andean Condor.

Crossing to the eastern slopes, the landscape shifts into cloud forest. Here, we search for endemics such as the Parodi’s Hemispingus, Marcapata Spinetail, and the Unstreaked Tit-Tyrant, in bamboo forests and ravines with Torrent Duck and White-capped Dipper.

After a productive morning, we return to your hotel in the afternoon.
