The trek to the Rainbow Mountain Cusco is easier compared to longer treks like: Inca Trail, Salkantay Trek, Ausangate, Lares, etc. However, we always recommend our clients to be in good physical condition, as well as acclimatized. If your allergy is severe, we ask you to be accompanied by a friend or person aware and fully responsible for your situation and ready with any medication.

To do the 02 days of the 7 Colors Mountain route, it is usually not necessary to have hiking poles, since our route is not too complicated. However, if you have any problems with your knee, then it is recommended that you have hiking poles.

Although the 7 Colors Mountain is a favorite destination for its visitors, from the beginning of our hike to the end it will be somewhat difficult to find toilets. Also, remember that we will be spending the night at the Ananta camp, but this will not be a problem for us. For this reason, we will carry portable toilets so that we can enjoy our trek in peace and quiet.

During our tour in the Rainbow Mountain we will observe that the access to the electrical service is limited, that is why we will find it difficult to find electricity to charge the battery of our camera or cell phone. For this reason, we recommend that you bring your own extra battery or portable charger, so you will not suffer any inconvenience during your entire tour.

The internet signal is null during most of the trek, especially in the Rainbow mountain – Ausangate. However, from Cusco to a certain part of the trip by car it will be possible to get an internet signal on the cell phone. After that and during the rest of the trip we will be in open country, so we will not have internet signal.

If you have luggage before the start of your hike that is not necessary for the Rainbow Mountain trek, do not worry. Because if you wish, then you can leave it stored in your hotel in Cusco (most hotels offer this service for free). Travel insurance is optional but highly recommended, whether in the case of a visit to the Rainbow Mountain or another trek. Because in the case of an incident on route, if you have travel insurance it allows you to make arrangements for support between the various institutions and support you as soon as possible and that the cost will be borne by your travel insurance.

The best time to visit the Rainbow Mountain, and have good weather is between the months of April – October, since during these dates we have the presence of clear skies and to a lesser extent rainfall. Mainly the driest months are between June – August, which is winter in the Andes.

January to March is summer in Peru, however, the rainy season is present for Cusco, Salkantay, Laguna de Humantay and Rainbow Mountain.
