Although you do not need any particular skill to complete the Inca Trail trail, some good health and fitness will help you get to the end, Machu Picchu.

During this fabulous trek you will appreciate how views of white-tipped mountains and high cloud forest combine with the magic of walking from one cliff-hugging ruin to the next, all building up to that first glimpse of the iconic stone settlement crowning a misty mountaintop. Therefore, since you will find some parts more difficult than others, we recommend packing only the more essential things for the Inca Trail.

Take your personal documents to the Inca Trail. It is a must do.

    • Hiking Boots
    • Camera
    • Music
    • Extra money for souvenirs, drinks and tips.

    For your duffel:

Porters will carry up to 5 kg of your personal items. This must include your sleeping bag and air matt (if you bring/rent one). From us these two items weigh 2.5 kg.

    Inkayni Important tip:

Although the daypacks can be any size for hiking, we recommend bringing a small one since you will carry during the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.

Inside Machu Picchu, bags larger than 25L will not be allowed in. If it is larger, you will need to store it outside citadel gates. But don´t worry, they have a secure storage facility.

    mochila trekking

La mochila que utilices es opcional. Sin embargo, te recomendamos que este sea pequeña y muy cómoda tomando en cuenta que la caminata al Camino Inca es bastante exigente.
Daypacks can be any size for hiking, but we always say the smaller, the better. Remember that you will carry it all the way to Machu Picchu.
