To this action, some companies such as Peru Rail join the tourist activation; therefore, the railway company in recent days launched an excellent promotion regarding discounts on the purchase of train tickets to Machupicchu. On the other hand, the Ministry of Culture has arranged that visitors who have purchased their tickets, with dates from 1 January 2023, will be given all the necessary facilities and will be able to enter without any inconvenience. For this, no formalities are required and they only have to present themselves at the gates of the llaqta with their unused ticket.

Please note that it is not allowed to reschedule your visit or to bring forward your entrance to Machupicchu if your ticket has a later date.

However, if you wish to buy tickets in person, you can go to the facilities of the Dirección Desconcentrada de Cultura in Cusco, located in Calle Maruri in Cusco City.

REFUND PROCESS TO ENTER MACHU PICCHU AND THE INCA TRAIL

If you are one of the group of people who have problems with entrance tickets to Machu Picchu from 21 January 2023. This is your opportunity to request a refund of the amount paid to enter the Machu Picchu llaqta and to proceed with the refund you must submit a request through the virtual desk of the DDC – Cusco, to the email ingresos@culturacusco.gob.pe or deliver physically at the Treasury Office of the DDC Cusco, located at La Cultura avenue 238, in the Huáscar Condominium.

BEST TIME TO VISIT MACHU PICCHU

The best time to visit Machu Picchu is during the dry season from April to October. During these months the temperature in Cusco is ideal for sightseeing in and out of the city. Therefore, we recommend you to plan your next trip for the high season of tourism in Cusco.

Also remember to arrive in Cusco between 2 to 3 days before your trip in order to acclimatise and not to present symptoms of the well known altitude sickness.
