August is a special month for the Andean culture since it is the month of <\/span>Pachamama or Mother<\/b> Earth <\/b>and it is her who receives gratitude offerings for giving all the products during the year.<\/span><\/p>\n

Many stories are told and believed during <\/span>Pachamama<\/b><\/a> month in <\/span>Cusco<\/b><\/a>.<\/span> For instance, it is believed that if you fall down, earth mother will take ownership of yourself<\/span>. It is also said that in August\u00a0 Pachamama is eager to satisfy her basic needs like hunger. Therefore, people offer the best food prepared by the locals<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Likewise, there are many institutions, companies etc that prepare offerings for the <\/span>Pachamama<\/b><\/a>. They give these offerings in order to have a good or better year. All of them may ask for a special favor to Mother earth.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
