Biodiversity boosts ecosystem productivity where each species, no matter how small, all have an important role to play. For example, fish provide 20 percent of animal protein to about 3 billion people. Over 80 percent of the human diet is provided by plants. Remember that they are happier living in their natural habitat.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Help the bees! Bees pollinate nearly 90% of plant species and they contribute to more than 35% of the world\u2019s food supply. Give pollinators an extra boost in your backyard by planting a variety of wildflowers and native plants to provide nectar that will bloom throughout the season.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leave critical wildlife habitat undisturbed, especially nesting and denning sites. Promote wildlife use by setting up bird and bat houses.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Recycling reduces pollution by decreasing energy, electricity, and water consumption and the need for landfills. Not only can you recycle bottles and cans, but you can also recycle clothes, electrical goods and batteries.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leave native plants undisturbed, and landscape using native trees and vegetation.
