It is at an altitude of 5 200 m.a.s.l (<\/span>17000 ft.).<\/span> It is located on the road to the Ausangate mountain, in the Andes of Peru, in the Cusco Region, between the districts of Cusipata, province of Quispicanchi, Pitumarca, and the province of Canchis.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The mountain is famous for its natural, multi-colored beauty. This rainbow-like appearance is created by the sediment of minerals throughout the area giving the mountain the turquoise, lavender, gold, and other colors.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although most of these majestic mountains were covered with snow, there was one that stood out for its colorfulness: the Vinicunca Mountain, also known as \u201cthe rainbow mountain\u201d in Peru.<\/p>\n

    The Incas conferred Vinicunca a masculine character, considering that masculine energy sprouted up from its foundations that fertilized Mother Earth, known as Pachamama. The local inhabitants consider Vinicunca to be a \u00absacred mountain\u00bb, leading them to perform rituals such as the payment to the earth, and which can make the visit an experience of great mysticism.<\/p>\n
