Trekking is a term commonly used to reference the activity that’s widely known as hiking. Therefore, trekking consists of walking along natural and open routes -preferably on a mountain- to exercise and connect with nature. An what a better way to enjoy nature than to get to Machu Picchu through our Inca Jungle trek.

On our tour, Inkayni Peru Tours offers you. You will hike in a beautiful area surrounded by a great variety of flora and fauna for about 10 to 15 hours.

Trekking level:

The Trip Difficulty Level is moderate. The activities require an average level of fitness to enjoy.

Trekking provides many benefits:

Such as physical, mental, and economical. We can name a few as you can read below:

  • Improves Cardiovascular strength: Regular trekking can increase cardiovascular strength as the heart has to pump harder to keep up with the oxygen demand while trekking. This increases blood flow to the muscles and the brain, improving the circulatory and respiratory system’s health.
  • Reduces cholesterol.

  • Makes you stronger: Trekking and hiking provide you a proper all-body workout that will reach all your muscles. Carrying the heavier weight will also make your back and core stronger.
  • Strengthens your bones: The agility and flexibility of the leg muscles increase with the up and down walk on the undulating terrain. Trekkers have well-toned leg muscles, which not only look good but also makes the ankles more stable. It is especially recommended for women who are over 40 years old.
  • Boosts your mood: Studies have shown that exercise can improve depressive symptoms to a comparable extent to the use of antidepressant drugs. Trekking is an excellent mood booster because it combines the physiological benefits of exercise with the mental health benefits of being surrounded by nature and socializing with other people on the trail.

  • Calms your mind: That fresh breath that you will take while hiking and trekking will help you to calm your mind, which will make you sleep better.

  • Burns calories: When you consider that trekking for an hour burns 400 calories, it’s easy to see the weight loss potential of trekking!

  • It helps you live longer! Research has shown that trekking reduces your risk of heart attacks, strokes, and heart failure by 31%. Being active is also one of the key ways to reduce your risk of cancer. Exercise lowers the estrogen in your bloodstream, which is believed to be the reason why active women are around 30% less likely to develop breast cancer.
