ITINERARY LUXURY TRAVEL TO MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO 6D/5N
DAY 1: ARRIVAL TO CUSCO
Our staff will welcome you upon your arrival to the Cusco airport and transfer you to your hotel where you can accommodate yourself before preparing to continue on your journey. The hotel will help you settle in and ensure your enjoyment of the Cusco experience, not far from Cusco’s charming main square and downtown historic center. This day is crucial to your first day in the high Andes, as it will help you rest and acclimatize to the altitude and your new surroundings.

DAY 2: CHINCHERO -MORAY – MARAS
This day we will begin our adventure towards the Sacred Valley of the Inca, first stop at the beautiful town of Chinchero upon the high plains with its picturesque colonial church located upon the ancient archaeological site. We will also visit a textile center where we will learn about the ancient science of weaving from the very artesans themselves and how they bring to magic these wonderful pieces of art dyed with minerals, plants, and seeds.
Continuing towards the Valley, we will visit the enigmatic circular terraces of Moray where we will learn about how these constructions served as an experimental agricultural center to selectivly cultivate the best breeds of Andean staple crops at different temperatures. Near Moray, we will stop at the town of Maras to then visit the ancient Salt Mines of Maras, used for thousands of years by local families to supply salt not only to the Incas but still to this day offering us an example of the natural art of salt harvesting straight from the land. Our journey today concludes in the town of Urubamba for a relaxing evening and rest.

DAY 3: LUXURY HIRAM BINGHAM TRAIN TO MACHU PICCHU
Our train will be awaiting our departure upon the extravagant Hiram Bingham, rated as one of the best train services in the world. The views during this journey are one of a kind as we journey down the Sacred Valley through the high Andes towards the “eyebrow of the jungle,” or edge of the Amazon rainforest, all while being attended to by the staff and offered the best foods, drinks, and open-air enjoyment along the way. A gourmet lunch may be accompanied by local musicians playing the finest music of the Andes while sipping on the most delicious Peruvian cocktails.
Arriving at Aguas Calientes, we will make a short journey by bus to the majestic mountain of Machu Picchu, offering us outstanding views of the beautiful landscape and all of the magic and mystery within. The official tour will take about 2 hours. In the evening the crowds will slowly disappear and leave you with some space at peace to feel the enchantment of this ancient place.

DAY 4: RETURN TO PISAQ – AWANANCANCHA
In the afternoon we will arrive at Ollantaytambo and continue onwards to the town of Pisaq, offering us a spectacular encounter with the engineering of the Incas demonstrated by mountainsides full of terraces and buildings on steep hillsides and high peaks. As we journey to the top of this mountain the heights will offer us the best views of the Sacred Valley below. Later we will return to the town of Pisaq and visit the local artisan market of craftsmen, complete with products of all kinds, offering you everything from weavings to musical instruments and all sorts of souvenirs.
After completing our visit and tour of the market we will board our transportation back to Cusco. Along the way, we will stop at Awanacancha, the weaving center, and also an opportunity to meet the Andean species of camels, such as alpaca, llama, vicuña, and guanaco, as we continue to dive deeper into the science of weaving and appreciate this hand-made art by Andean women.

DAY 5: CITY TOUR (4 SITES)
We will begin our tour starting at Saqsayhuaman, one of the greatest architectural centers of the Incas, demonstrating magnificent megalithic stones in all their splendor. Journeying through this enigmatic ceremonial center, we will continue up into the hills to visit the famous Temple of the Moon, a sacred space possibly used for sacrifices to Andean deities worshipped by ancient cultures.
Further on lies Puca Pucara, a military construction at the entrance to Cusco on one of the main roadways to the city and named for its color that the stones reflect at sunset. Finally, we complete our circuit at Tambomachay, the ceremonial Inca baths, offering us a unique example of aqueducts and fine stonework to honor this life-giving element.

DAY 6: WALKING TOUR – AIRPORT TRANSFER
This morning you will have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the most attractive sites of Cusco’s Historic Center before your afternoon flight to Lima. The sites offered include:
