On this second day of the Inca Jungle Tour, we will start our tour to the village of Aguas Calientes (2,040 meters / 6,692 feet) early after a delicious breakfast. Moreover, on the way, we will make small stops to visit the local fruit fields mostly native and have lots of wild vegetation. And if it is not enough during this day we will have the opportunity to experience the zip line or the canopy tour.

After the zipline, we will continue our journey to the hydroelectric station (2,070 meters / 6,791 feet), where we will enjoy a delicious lunch followed by a short rest. Finally, we will continue for about 3 hours on foot until we reach the town of Aguas Calientes for dinner and rest.

Finally, the most important day of the Inca Jungle Tour arrives, the day we will visit one of the world’s wonders, the majestic Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. We will get up early for breakfast and board the bus to Machu Picchu, and if we are lucky, we will receive the first rays of the sun at dawn and light this magical mountain. The guided tour of the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu will last approximately 2 hours exploring this wonderful place from another world. Later we will begin our return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and rest before our afternoon train to Ollantaytambo. After our train trip, our ground transportation will wait for our transfer to your hotel in Cusco.

It’s essential to make the most of your Inca Jungle tour to get properly prepared. Although you do not need to be a professional athlete, it is recommended that you be in an acceptable physical condition to enjoy the adventure activities and complete the trek.

The route involves hiking, biking, rafting, and zip lining, so prior physical preparation, including regular walks and cardiovascular activities.

The Inca Jungle 3 days 2 nights starts from the Abra Malaga with the first activity which is the descent by bike for about 3 hours until you reach Santa María. This journey culminates in the wonder of the world: Machu Picchu.

During the 3-day 2-night trek, the total distance is 10 kilometers (6.21 miles) covered on the first and second day.

The best time to do the Inca Jungle Tour is during the dry season, which runs from mid-April to late October. However, the months from June to August are especially favorable, as they represent the driest and most stable months, with sunny days and cool nights. However, in the face of heavy rain, we will prioritize safety and consider postponing or, as a last resort, canceling mountain descent and rafting activities, ensuring the safety of both our hikers and our guides.

The 3-day 2-night Inca Jungle tour includes 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches, and 2 dinners during the 3-day tour. Snacks are not included.

Most of our main meals are buffet style, leaving you the option to avoid anything undesirable for you.

We can also assist you in diets intolerant to lactose or gluten intolerant. We cannot accept people with severe and/or life-threatening allergic reactions.

The first night is spent in a standard hotel in Santa Teresa, while the last night is enjoyed in a 3-star hotel in Aguas Calientes.

We understand your concern about the guarantee of departure dates. Only in extreme situations, such as dangerous weather conditions or natural disasters, we may postpone the departure date for safety reasons. However, under normal circumstances, your tour date is fully guaranteed. Regarding the minimum number of group bookings, we need a minimum of 2 people to ensure departure.

The initial deposit allows us to secure all essential services for your Inca Jungle tour. This includes:

For this trip, we suggest a backpack to carry between 25 and 60 liters (approximately 55 to 132 pounds), where you can carry clothes and essentials for the excursion. The rest of your luggage can be stored safely in your accommodation in Cusco or, if you prefer, in our facilities.

Coverage during the route is limited, with sporadic signal at some specific points, but not completely reliable. It is advisable to note that there is likely no connectivity during the day, except when arriving at Santa Maria, Santa Teresa, or Machu Picchu Pueblo.

It is certainly possible to adjust the tour date with a minimum of 45 days’ notice from the originally booked date, without incurring any additional costs. However, we recommend you contact your travel agent to coordinate the new dates and avoid potential mishaps.

It is extremely essential, as last-minute purchases may arise. Therefore, we recommend you have money in Peruvian soles, thus facilitating the purchase process.

During the tour, there are no charging facilities or mobile devices. It is recommended to bring a portable battery (power bank) to charge your phone, camera, or other electronic devices. You will have the opportunity to recharge your devices at the accommodation points indicated on the itinerary.

If you have luggage that is not necessary for the Inca Jungle Trek. This can be stored at your hotel in Cusco (most hotels offer this service for free). If your hotel does not offer this service, we will store your luggage safely at our office.

During our tour of the Inca Jungle, which starts from the upper Andes and descends to the thicket of the high jungle and Machu Picchu, there are no malaria, yellow fever cases, or similar. Therefore, it is not mandatory to have any vaccination for this route, what is recommended is to have a good insect repellent.

However, if you are planning to visit other places, please consult with your local travel doctor or clinic regarding your visit to South America. For example: vaccines for tetanus, diphtheria, and polio.

For a hike, we recommend that all customers arrive in Cusco at least 48 hours before the start of the trek as is the case of the Inca Jungle Trek. If you arrive at least 2 days earlier, this will help you to acclimatize to the altitude and start the adventure comfortably. In addition, we take advantage of this time to provide an informative session about the trek and if you have any remaining balance of payment you can deliver it. Finally please note that your remaining balance must be paid in cash at our office.

The Inka Jungle Tour to Machu Picchu is an outdoor activity that has certain limitations regarding sanitary facilities, however, this should not worry us. Because we will have accommodation every night and the advantage is that they have the respective toilet facilities. Likewise, on most of the routes, it is possible to find private toilets, which have an extra cost of between 1 and 2 soles.

The advantage of taking the Inca Jungle Tour to Machu Picchu is that in all the accommodations we can have electric light and power so it will be possible to recharge our cameras or cell phones. So, if necessary you can bring your charger, extra battery, or portable charger to recharge.

You will have telephone and internet signal on several sections of the Inca Jungle Tour as long as you get a chip from local operators CLARO or MOVISTAR. In addition, in the accommodations of Santa María, Santa Teresa, and Aguas Calientes it will be possible to receive a Wi-Fi signal. And the advantage is that it’s a complimentary service from the hotel, so there’s no extra cost.
